71FSS School Liaison Program
The School Liaison is available to assist military families with questions or issues for kindergarten through 12th grade schooling options for public, private, or home schooling. Military children experience unique challenges during a transition to a new school. The School Liaison is available to identify barriers to academic success, develop solutions, provide parents the tools needed to overcome educational obstacles, and develop partnerships with the local school districts servicing military students.

Five & Thrive
Five & Thrive is a quality-of-life initiative for military families. It focuses on five critical areas — childcare, education, healthcare, housing, and spouse employment — that have a direct impact on family readiness, resilience, and force retention. Through community partnerships, resource consolidation, advocacy, and sharing of best practices, the program empowers military families with practical support and promotes sustainable, community-driven solutions.

The Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3) is a national partnership that ensures consistent educational policies for military-connected children as their families relocate. Through the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, MIC3 addresses common challenges of military life — including enrollment, school placement, course transfer, attendance, and graduation — by providing uniform rules and support across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. MIC3 also supports military families with special medical or educational needs.
